Meet my maker,
tell him I am divine
           for understanding death
tell him i burnt the tree of life
give him the power
                    to take it all away
           or steal it myself
pain has made me most aware of me in made
out of the stars in the universe
          the creatures,
you looked down on my humanity
and carved your name out
on the side of my body.
adam, jesus, and i share scars
                   --am I to believe
in the creation out my wound?
hold my anger
          my pain
                from your hands,
                        i take sorrow
                to your ears,
                        i give lament
        is your silence my refuge?
            are my throbbing veins,
                the tightrope to your kingdom?
i am small
if the ocean can take me
           sun blind me
           air restrict me
who am i to face grand?
would you send the flood again?
        set the world on fire?
        bury us all?
or would you breathe life out?
a rainbow,
   covenant,
is not the air in my lungs.
i understand nothing.
but if you had the last word,
on trial,
        you are not innocent.
now my eyes see you.
i lie in dust and ashes.
                leave from ashes.
